Sea Bristletail

Petrobius est un genre d'insectes Archaeognathes de la famille des Machilidae.

Petrobius maritimus, the shore bristletail or sea bristletail, is a species of Archaeognatha found on rocky shores from the Mediterranean Sea to the North Sea . Individuals may grow up to 15 mm and are grey in colour, with long bristly antennae and a triple forked tail . They are very resistant to low temperatures, and remains active even if the temperature drops below 0 degrees C.

Petrobius maritimus es una especie de Archaeognatha que se puede encontrar en las playas rocosas del mar Mediterráneo hasta el mar del Norte. ​ Los individuos pueden llegar a medir 15 mm y tienen un color grisáceo, con dos largas y estrechas antenas su cuerpo termina en una cola que es igual de larga que el resto de su cuerpo.
