Avec les sakis à barbe (genre Chiropotes) et les ouakaris (genre Cacajao), ils constituent la sous-famille des Pitheciinae. The equatorial saki (Pithecia aequatorialis), also called the red-bearded saki, is a species of saki monkey, a type of New World monkey. It is found in northeastern Peru and Ecuador. Not much is known about the equatorial saki, its range being specifically unknown.
El Sakí ecuatorial (Pithecia aequatorialis) es una especie de Sakí, un tipo de primate platirrino natural de las selvas del Perú y sur del río Napo en Ecuador (América del Sur). Se alimenta principalmente de fruta y hojas de los árboles en los que vive. Es una especie gregaria, vive en grupos de uno a cuatro individuos y tiene hábitos diurnos.
