Steller's eider (Polysticta stelleri) is a migratory Arctic sea duck that breeds along the coastlines of Russia and Alaska, as well as in the Baltic Sea. It is the smallest, and fastest flying of the duck species known as eiders; it is closely related to the other species of eider in the genus Somateria, but sufficiently distinct to be given separate recognition as the only member of the genus Polysticta. El eider de Steller (Polysticta stelleri), también eider menor o eider chico es una especie de ave anseriforme de la familia Anatidae que habita en las costas del Ártico, al este de Siberia y Alaska. Construye sus nidos sobre la tundra, cerca del mar, y deposita entre seis y diez huevos cada vez. Migra hacia el sur del mar de Bering, al norte de Escandinavia y al mar Báltico.
