Pontoscolex corethrurus est une espèce de ver de terre tropical. Description Son corps, non pigmenté, comporte de 167 à 222 segments. Il mesure de 5 à 10 cm de long et 3 à 4 mm de diamètre.

An earthworm is a soil-dwelling terrestrial invertebrate that belongs to the phylum Annelida. The term is the common name for the largest members of the class (or subclass, depending on the author) Oligochaeta. In classical systems, they were in the order of Opisthopora since the male pores opened posterior to the female pores, although the internal male segments are anterior to the female.

Terra preta (que significa ‘tierra negra’ en portugués) es un término que se utiliza para referirse a un tipo de suelo oscuro y fértil encontrado en la cuenca del río Amazonas. También se denomina «tierra negra del Amazonas», «tierra negra antropogénica», «tierra negra arqueológica» o «tierra negra india», aportando cada expresión un matiz diferente. En portugués, la expresión completa es terra preta de índio.
