Olm

Le Protée anguillard (Proteus anguinus), aussi appelé olm, salamandre blanche ou salamandre des grottes, unique représentant du genre Proteus, est une espèce d'urodèles de la famille des Proteidae. Le Protée anguillard est la seule espèce du genre Proteus, la seule espèce européenne de la famille des Proteidae et le seul chordé troglobie européen. On le surnomme parfois « poisson humain » (slovène : človeška ribica) à cause de sa peau qui ressemble à celle de l’Homme.

El proteo (Proteus anguinus) es una especie de caudado troglobio presente en ciertas cuevas de Italia, Eslovenia, Croacia, Bosnia y Herzegovina. Este extraño representante de la fauna europea es el único miembro del género Proteus y una de las especies de caudados que respira mediante branquias. Esta especie tiene un gran parecido con Typhylomolge rathbuni y con Ambystoma mexicanum.
