Double-lined Fusilier

Pterocaesio est un genre de poissons appartenant à la famille des Caesionidae (les « fusiliers »).

The double-lined fusilier (Pterocaesio digramma), also known as the double stripe fusilier or blacktipped fusilier, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, a fusilier belonging to the family Caesionidae. It is widespread around reefs in the Indo-West Pacific region. Taxonomy The double-lined fusilier was first formally described as Caesio digramma in 1865 by the Dutch ichthyologist Pieter Bleeker with the type locality given as Ambon Island in Indonesia.

Los peces fusilero son la familia Caesionidae, una familia de peces marinos incluida en el orden Perciformes. ​ Su nombre procede del latín caesius, que significa gris-azulado, en alusión a su color. ​ Se distribuyen por aguas costeras del océano Índico y costa oeste del océano Pacífico.
