Pygaera timon

La pygère timon (Pygaera timon) est une espèce de lépidoptères (papillons) de la famille des Notodontidae et de la sous-famille des Pygaerinae. C'est la seule espèce de son genre Pygaera (monotypique). Répartition : du nord et du centre de l’Europe jusqu’en Asie orientale.

Pygaera is a monotypic genus of moths in the family Notodontidae erected by Ferdinand Ochsenheimer in 1810. Its only species, Pygaera timon, was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1803. It is found in northern and central Europe, through eastern Asia up to Ussuri and Japan.
