Pacific Mud Eel

Pythonichthys asodes est une espèce de poissons téléostéens serpentiformes.

The Pacific mud eel (Pythonichthys asodes) is an eel in the family Heterenchelyidae (mud eels). It was described by Richard Heinrich Rosenblatt and Ira Rubinoff in 1972. It is a tropical, marine eel which is known from the eastern central Pacific Ocean, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Nicaragua.

Los heterenquélidos (Heterenchelyidae) son una familia de peces teleósteos del orden anguilliformes, conocidos vulgarmente como anguilas de fango. Se distribuyen por aguas tropicales del océano Atlántico, el mar Mediterráneo y el este del Pacífico. ​ Su nombre procede del griego: ἕτερος [jéteros] ('otro, diferente') + ἔγχελυς [énchelis] ('anguila').
