Greater Rhea

Le Nandou d'Amérique (Rhea americana) est une espèce d'oiseaux d'Amérique du Sud de la famille des Rheidae. Elle est inapte au vol, de taille moyenne et voisine de l'autruche. C'est l'une des deux espèces actuelles de nandous avec le Nandou de Darwin.

The greater rhea (Rhea americana) is a species of flightless bird native to eastern South America. Other names for the greater rhea include the grey, common, or American rhea; ema (Portuguese); or ñandú (Guaraní and Spanish). One of two species in the genus Rhea, in the family Rheidae, it inhabits a variety of open areas, such as grasslands, savanna or grassy wetlands.

El avestruz​ (Struthio camelus) es una especie de ave estrutioniforme de la familia Struthionidae. ​ Es un ave grande que no vuela, sino que es corredora. Se halla en África, y en tiempos pasados también habitó en Oriente Medio.
