Les Holothuries (Holothuroidea) sont une classe d'animaux marins de l'embranchement des échinodermes au corps mou et oblong et possédant un cercle de tentacules autour de la bouche. Elles sont aussi appelées concombres de mer ou bêches de mer et possèdent une grande diversité de surnoms sur les différentes côtes. Ces animaux, majoritairement benthiques, vivent, selon les espèces, de la surface aux abysses, et se nourrissent de particules nutritives qu'ils attrapent au moyen de leurs tentacules buccales.

Rhizostoma pulmo, commonly known as the barrel jellyfish, the dustbin-lid jellyfish or the frilly-mouthed jellyfish, is a scyphomedusa in the family Rhizostomatidae. It is found in the northeast Atlantic, and in the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea and Sea of Azov. It is also known from the southern Atlantic off the western South African coast and into False Bay.
