Elegant Cuttlefish

Sepia elegans, la Seiche élégante, est une espèce de seiches de la famille des Sepiidae et qui se rencontre dans l'Atlantique est et en Méditerranée. Systématique L'espèce Sepia elegans a été décrite pour la première fois en 1827 par le zoologiste français Henri-Marie Ducrotay de Blainville (1777-1850). Répartition Sepia elegans se rencontre dans l'Atlantique est depuis le Royaume-Uni jusqu'à l'Angola ainsi qu'en Méditerranée.

Sepia elegans, the elegant cuttlefish, is a species of cuttlefish in the family Sepiidae from the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It is an important species for fisheries in some parts of the Mediterranean where its population may have suffered from overfishing. Description Sepia elegans is a small species of cuttlefish which has an elongated mantle which is oval in shape and has a length that is more than two times greater than its width, with a maximum mantle length of 80mm.
