Tiger Rockfish

Sebastes nigrocinctus est une espèce de poissons de la famille des Scorpaenidae.

The tiger rockfish (Sebastes nigrocinctus), also called tiger seaperch, banded rockfish and black-banded rockfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the subfamily Sebastinae, the rockfishes, part of the family Scorpaenidae. It is native to the waters of the Pacific Ocean off western North America. Taxonomy The tiger rockfish was first formally described in 1859 by the American zoologist William Orville Ayres with the type locality given as San Francisco, California.
