Sephina gundlachii, the giant milkweed bug, is a species of leaf-footed bug in the family Coreidae. It is found in North America and the Caribbean.

Juan Cristóbal Gundlach (Marburg, 17 de julio de 1810-La Habana, 14 de marzo de 1896), nacido Johannes Christoph Gundlach Redberg, fue un naturalista cubano, nacido en Alemania. Biografía Gundlach nació en Marburg an der Lahn, actual estado de Hessen. Se graduó en 1837 como Doctor en Filosofía en la Universidad de Marburgo, donde su padre era profesor de matemática y física.
