Blunthead Puffer

Sphoeroides pachygaster est une espèce de poissons de la famille des Tetraodontidae.

The blunthead puffer (Sphoeroides pachygaster) is a pufferfish of the family Tetraodontidae up to 40 cm long, found circumglobally in tropical and temperate seas, at depths between 50 and 500 m. It is considered an invasive species in the Mediterranean Sea, where it was first recorded off the Spanish coast in 1981 after entry via the strait of Gibraltar. It invaded the western basin in following decades, and now reaches eastward the Adriatic Sea, the Aegean Sea and Levantine waters.

El tamboril ñato, botete chato o tamboril de fuera (Sphoeroides pachygaster)​ es una especie de pez actinopeterigio marino,​ de la familia de los tetraodóntidos. ​ Morfología La longitud máxima descrita fue de una captura de 40,5 cm,​ aunque la longitud máxima normal parece ser de unos 26 cm. ​ En la aleta dorsal tiene de 7 a 9 radios blandos mientras que en la aleta anal 8 a 9 radios blandos, sin espinas en todo el cuerpo.
