Mexican Jerusalem Cricket

Jerusalem crickets (or potato bugs) are a group of large, flightless insects in the genera Ammopelmatus and Stenopelmatus, together comprising the tribe Stenopelmatini. The former genus is native to the Western United States and parts of Mexico, while the latter genus is from Central America. Despite their common names, these insects are neither true crickets (which belong to the family Gryllidae), nor are they native to Jerusalem.

Los grillos de Jerusalén, conocidos como cara de niño, o igual en algunos estados de la República mexicana son conocidos como cara de dulce, son un grupo de grandes insectos no voladores del género Stenopelmatus. Son nativos del Oeste de Estados Unidos y de partes de México. A pesar de sus nombres comunes, estos insectos no son verdaderos grillos (que pertenecen a la familia Gryllidae), no son nativos de Jerusalén, tampoco tienen cara de niño.
