Black-banded Owl

La Chouette huhul (Strix huhula) est une espèce d'oiseaux de la famille des Strigidae que l'on retrouve à l'état naturel en Amérique du Sud, essentiellement en Amazonie. Description Chouette moyenne d'environ 34 cm de long pour un poids d'envrion 400 g. Une aile fait 24 à 28 cm de long.

The black-banded owl (Strix huhula) is a species of owl in the family Strigidae. Entirely nocturnal, this midsized black and white neotropical bird is a resident species, and therefore never migrates out of its native South America. Its natural habitats are varied subtropical or tropical forests ranging from lowlands to areas of medium altitude, and it has been found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Strix huhula, comúnmente llamado cárabo negro,​ lechuza negra, búho negro, búho negro bandeado o ñakurutu hu (por las palabras guaraníes ñakurutu –búho- y hu -negro-), es una rapaz nocturna de la familia Strigidae. Localización y características Es natural de América del Sur. Su distribución comprende desde Colombia hasta el sur de Brasil, Paraguay y el norte de Argentina.
