Southern Pocket Gopher

Thomomys umbrinus est une espèce de rongeurs de la famille des Geomyidae. Ce gaufre à larges abajoues se rencontre aux États-Unis et au Mexique. Cette espèce a été décrite pour la première fois en 1829 par John Richardson (1787-1865), un naturaliste, explorateur et médecin écossais.

The southern pocket gopher (Thomomys umbrinus) is a species of rodent in the family Geomyidae. It is found in Mexico and the United States, usually in high altitude grassland and shrubland. It feeds on plant material and has an extensive burrow above which is a large heap of earth on the surface of the ground.

La tuza (Thomomys umbrinus)​ es una especie de roedor de la familia Geomyidae. Varía mucho en la talla, detalles de su cráneo y su color. Se ha considerado que es un complejo de subespecies que habita desde el sur de Estados Unidos hasta el Eje Neovolcánico en México.
