Thrips atratus

Les sureaux , arbustes et plantes herbacées du genre Sambucus, appartenaient à la famille des Caprifoliacées. Les travaux récents en systématique situent maintenant ce genre dans les Adoxacées. Le sureau est une plante nitrophile : sa présence indique donc un sol riche en azote.

Mecynothrips is a genus of thrips in the family Phlaeothripidae, first described by Richard Siddoway Bagnall in 1908. The type species is Mecynothrips wallacei Bagnall, 1908. Two of the Australian species are found only in rainforests in northern Queensland (Mecynothrips acanthus, and Mecynothrips wallacei).
