The sponge sculpin (Thyriscus anoplus) is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Cottidae, the typical sculpins. It is the only species in the monospecific genus Thyriscus. This fish is found in the northern Pacific Ocean where it is found at depths from 100 to 800 m (330 to 2,620 ft) though usually in the range of 300 to 400 m (980 to 1,310 ft).
