Goliath conch

Titanostrombus goliath est une espèce de mollusques gastéropodes de la famille des Strombidae. Systématique Le nom valide complet (avec auteur) de ce taxon est Titanostrombus goliath (Schröter (d), 1805). L'espèce a été initialement classée dans le genre Strombus sous le protonyme Strombus goliath Schröter, 1805.

Titanostrombus goliath, previously known as Lobatus goliath and Strombus goliath, common name the goliath conch, is a species of very large edible sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Strombidae, the true conchs. T. goliath is one of the largest mollusks of the Western Atlantic Ocean, and also one of the largest species among the Strombidae.
