Triplax flavicollis

Triplax flavicollis is an American species of small pleasing fungus beetle (family Erotylidae). It is placed in subfamily Tritominae (formerly Triplacinae), or – in taxonomic arrangements that prefer a more comprehensive subfamily Erotylinae – in tribe Tritomini of the Erotylinae. This species is one of the most common members of its family in North America and is one of the "breast-plated" pleasing fungus beetles of the Triplax thoracica cryptic species complex.
