Black-fronted Triplax

Triplax frontalis, the black-fronted triplax or black-headed pleasing fungus beetle, is a North American species of small pleasing fungus beetle (family Erotylidae). Probably endemic to the USA, it is placed in subfamily Tritominae (formerly Triplacinae), or – in taxonomic arrangements that prefer a more comprehensive subfamily Erotylinae – in tribe Tritomini of the Erotylinae. This species is suspected to belong to the Triplax macra cryptic species complex, which apart from T.
