Palawan Birdwing

Troides trojana ou Ornithoptère de Palawan est une espèce de lépidoptères (papillons) de la famille des Papilionidae et de la sous-famille des Papilioninae et du genre Troides, endémique de l'île de Palawan, aux Philippines. Taxinomie Troides trojana a été décrit par le naturaliste Eduard G. Honrath en 1886 sous le nom initial d’Ornithoptera trojana.

Trogonoptera trojana, the Palawan birdwing or triangle birdwing, is a birdwing butterfly of the family Papilionidae. It is endemic to Palawan in the Philippines. It is one of only two species in its genus, the other being the more widespread Rajah Brooke's birdwing, where the male has larger green markings on the hindwings.

Troides magellanus (conocida en inglés como "Magellan birdwing") es una especie de lepidóptero ditrisio de la familia Papilionidae de impresionante belleza y tamaño, endémica de Filipinas. Características T. magellanus muestra un brillo azul-verdoso cuando se observa desde un ángulo oblicuo.
