Truncatella scalaris

Truncatella scalaris est une espèce de petits gastéropodes terrestres de la famille des Truncatellidae, peuplant les rivages de la Caraïbe. L’espèce a été décrite sous le protonyme de Rissoa scalaris par Michaud sans désignation de localité. Le type n’étant pas connu, un néotype provenant de la Jamaïque a été attribué.

Truncatella is a genus of very small land snails with an operculum, terrestrial gastropod mollusks in the family Truncatellidae. These minute snails live in land habitats close to seawater. They walk with a looping action, and the adults have truncated shells.
