Le Tangalung (Viverra tangalunga), également connu sous les noms de Zibeth de Sumatra ou encore Civette de Malaisie, est une espèce de mammifère carnivore de la famille des viverridés. Il est originaire de la Péninsule Malaise et des îles de Sumatra, Bangka, Bornéo, l'Archipel de Riau et les Philippines. Le Tangalung est classé comme « Préoccupation mineure » (LC) par l'UICN, car il est relativement largement réparti, semble tolérer les habitats anthropisés et est présente dans un certain nombre de zones protégées.
The Malayan civet (Viverra tangalunga), also known as the Malay civet and Oriental civet, is a viverrid native to the Malay Peninsula and the islands of Sumatra, Bangka, Borneo, the Riau Archipelago, and the Philippines. It is listed as "Least Concern" by IUCN as it is a relatively widely distributed, appears to be tolerant of degraded habitats, and occurs in a number of protected areas. Taxonomy Viverra tangalunga was the scientific name proposed by John Edward Gray in 1832 for a spotted zoological specimen.
