Xylophanes elara

Xylophanes elara est une espèce de lépidoptères de la famille des Sphingidae, de la sous-famille des Macroglossinae, tribu des Macroglossini, sous-tribu des Choerocampina, et du genre Xylophanes. Historique et dénomination L'espèce Xylophanes elara a été décrite par l'entomologiste britannique Herbert Druce en 1878, sous le nom initial de Darapsa elara. La localité type est le Paraguay.

Xylophanes elara is a moth of the family Sphingidae first described by Herbert Druce in 1878. It is known from Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil. The upperside of the wings and body are olive green and the distal margin of the forewing is strongly excavate below the falcate apex, then convex.
