Xylophanes neoptolemus est une espèce de lépidoptères de la famille des Sphingidae, de la sous-famille des Macroglossinae, tribu des Macroglossini, sous-tribu des Choerocampina, et du genre Xylophanes. Description L'espèce est similaire à Xylophanes Loelia et Xylophanes libya, mais a une coloration rouge plus profond de la bande médiane de la face dorsale de l'aile postérieure. Le mésothorax et le métathorax ont une bande médiane gris pâle qui continue sur l'abdomen sous forme d'une paire de lignes fines, entourant une ligne médiane plus sombre vert olive ou brun.
Xylophanes neoptolemus is a moth of the family Sphingidae. Distribution It is found from Trinidad and Suriname to Venezuela and north-western Brazil. It is probably present in much of South America.
