Xylophanes tersa est une espèce de lépidoptères de la famille des Sphingidae, de la sous-famille des Macroglossinae, tribu des Macroglossini, sous-tribu des Choerocampina, et du genre Xylophanes. Description Biologie Les larves se nourrissent sur les genres Borreria, Catalpa, Manettia, sur les espèces Spermacoce glabra, Hamelia patens, Hedyotis nigricans, Heimia salicifolia, Psychotria microdon, Psychotria nervosa, Inga vera. Elles ont un aspect de petit serpent.
Xylophanes tersa, the tersa sphinx, is a species of moth of the family Sphingidae. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1771. It is found from the United States (Massachusetts south to southern Florida, west to Nebraska, New Mexico and southern Arizona), through Mexico, the West Indies and Central America and into parts of South America (including Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil).
Xylophanes tersa es una mariposa nocturna de la familia Sphingidae. Se encuentra en Estados Unidos, desde Massachusetts hacia el sur, en el Caribe, América central y Sudamérica hasta Argentina. Llega a Canadá en raras ocasiones.
