Zenithoptera est un genre de la famille des Libellulidae appartenant au sous-ordre des anisoptères dans l'ordre des odonates. Il comprend quatre espèces.
Zenithoptera fasciata, also known as the rainforest bluewing is a species of dragonfly native to much of the northern half of South America, as well as southern portions of Central America. The species has in the past been known by additional taxonomic names, including: Libellula fasciata, Libellula americana, and Libellula violacea. Taxonomy Zenithoptera fasciata is one of four known extant species of the genus Zenithoptera, the others being Zenithoptera anceps, Zenithoptera viola, and Zenithoptera lanei ("clearspot bluewing"), with a significant overlap in range between the species.
