Southern Brown Howler
Alouatta guariba clamitans
Le Hurleur brun (Alouatta guariba) est un singe hurleur ou alouate, qui vit dans les forêts du sud-est du Brésil et de l'extrême nord-est de l'Argentine. Il vit en groupes de deux à onze individus. Malgré son nom de « Hurleur brun », il est de couleur variable, certains individus pouvant même présenter une couleur en grande partie rouge-orange ou noir.
The southern brown howler (Alouatta guariba clamitans) is a monkey subspecies of brown howler native to southeastern Brazil (Minas Gerais to Rio Grande do Sul) and far northeastern Argentina (Misiones). Gregorin, 2006, considered the southern brown howler to be a separate species, Alouatta clamitans, but this has not been universally accepted. Distribution and habitat The southern brown howler is found in the Atlantic forests of eastern Brazil where it occurs in the states of Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
El carayá colorado austral (Alouatta guariba clamitans), también llamado comúnmente guaribá austral, carayá pardo austral, o carayá marrón austral, es una de las subespecies en que se divide la especie Alouatta guariba, un tipo de platirrino perteneciente a la familia Atelidae. Esta subespecie habita en selvas y bosques húmedos, del este de América del Sur. Vive en grupos de 2 a 11 individuos.
