Eight-spotted Forester Moth

Alypia octomaculata, l’Alypie à huit points, est un papillon de la famille des Noctuidae décrit pour la première fois par Johan Christian Fabricius en 1775. Il est originaire du Canada, mais on le trouve aujourd'hui dans toute l'Amérique du Nord, allant de la Nouvelle-Écosse à la Floride et du Dakota du Sud au Texas. Leurs habitats étant assez spécifiques, ils habitent là où les zones boisées rencontrent les champs ouverts.

Alypia octomaculata, the eight-spotted forester, is a moth of the family Noctuidae, first described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1775. It is native to Canada, but can be found today throughout Northern America, ranging between Nova Scotia to Florida and South Dakota to Texas. Their habitats are rather specific: they make home where wooded areas meet open fields.

El guardabosques de ocho puntos (Alypia octomaculata) es una especie de polilla de la familia Noctuidae. Es originaria del este de Norteamérica desde Texas y Florida hasta el este de Canadá. También se encuentra en México.
