Ancistrus brevipinnis

Ancistrus brevipinnis is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the suckermouth armoured catfishes, and the subfamily Hypostominae, the suckermouth catfishes. This catfish is endemic to Brazil. Taxonomy Ancistrus brevipinnis was first formally described in 1904 by the British ichthyologist Charles Tate Regan with its type locality given as the Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
