The American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus), often simply known as the bullfrog in Canada and the United States, is a species of large frog in the family Ranidae (true frogs). The species is native to eastern North America. It typically inhabits large permanent water bodies such as swamps, ponds, and lakes.

La rana toro (Aquarana catesbeiana)​ es una especie de anfibio anuro perteneciente a la familia Ranidae. Es de gran tamaño, mide entre 10 y 20 cm de longitud hocico-cloaca y pesa entre 60 y 900 g. Larvas excepcionalmente grandes, miden entre 15 y 18 cm.
