American Bullfrog

Lithobates catesbeianus est une espèce d'amphibiens de la famille des Ranidae. Elle est appelée ouaouaron, ou wawaron, grenouille mugissante ou grenouille-taureau (de l'anglais : bullfrog). Le mot « ouaouaron » est d'origine wendat.

The American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus), often simply known as the bullfrog in Canada and the United States, is a large true frog native to eastern North America. It typically inhabits large permanent water bodies such as swamps, ponds, and lakes. Bullfrogs can also be found in manmade habitats such as pools, koi ponds, canals, ditches, reservoirs and culverts.

La rana toro (Aquarana catesbeiana)​ es una especie de anfibio anuro perteneciente a la familia Ranidae. Es de gran tamaño, mide entre 10 y 20 cm de longitud hocico-cloaca y pesa entre 60 y 900 g. Larvas excepcionalmente grandes, miden entre 15 y 18 cm.
