Baryancistrus est un genre de poissons-chats d'eau douce de la famille des Loricariidae. Certaines espèces de ce genre sont appelées en anglais Gold Nugget plec, littéralement « Pléco pépite d'or », en référence aux pois jaunes recouvrant leur corps. Systématique Le genre Baryancistrus a été créé en 1989 par l'ichtyologiste brésilienne Lucia Helena Rapp Py-Daniel (d) avec pour espèce type Baryancistrus niveatus.

Baryancistrus chrysolomusis a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the suckermouth armoured catfishes, and the subfamily Hypostominae, the suckermouth catfishes. This species is endemic to the Xingu River basin in Brazil. Adults of the species are most frequently found under flat rocks on the river bottom in places with fine sediments, whereas juveniles are found under rocks in marginal areas near river banks.
