Streamer Searobin

Bellator egretta, the streamer searobin, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Triglidae, the sea robins. This fish is found in the western Atlantic Ocean. Taxonomy Bellator egretta was first formally described in 1896 as Prionotus egretta by the American ichthyologists George Brown Goode and Tarleton Hoffman Bean with the type locality given as off Barbados.

Las vacas y rubios o escarchos son la familia Triglidae de peces marinos incluida en el orden Scorpaeniformes, distribuidos por mares y estuarios de todas las aguas templadas y tropicales del mundo. ​ Su nombre procede del griego trigla = salmonete rojo (por su parecido con este pez). ​ Aparecen por primera vez en el registro fósil en el Eoceno, durante el Terciario inferior.
