Greater Fairy Armadillo

Calyptophractus retusus est une petite espèce de tatou de la sous-famille des Euphractinae. Il a été décrit par Hermann Burmeister en 1863. C'est la seule espèce du genre Calyptophractus.

The greater fairy armadillo (Calyptophractus retusus), also known as Burmeister's armadillo or the Chacoan fairy armadillo, is a species of armadillo in the family Chlamyphoridae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland.

El pichiciego mayor, pichiciego grande, pichiciego chaqueño o culotapado (Calyptophractus retusus) es un armadillo (familia Chlamyphoridae), y la única especie del género Calyptophractus. ​ Habita en Bolivia y en el norte de Argentina (concretamente en las provincias de Salta, Formosa y Chaco) y en el Chaco Paraguayo. Tiene un tamaño aproximado de unos 17 cm.
