Scherer’s hatchetfish

Carnegiella est un genre de poissons sud-américains de la famille des Gasteropelecidae. Les poissons de ce genre sont appelés communément « poissons-hachettes » en raison de leur forme caractéristique. Ce sont des poissons vivant essentiellement sous la surface de l'eau.

Carnegiella schereri, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Gasteropelecidae, the freshwater hatchetfishes. This species is found in the Amazon Basin in Peru and Brazil. It is often sold for home aquariums as silver hatchetfish, dwarf hatchetfish, or Scherer's hatchetfish, and grows to about 2.

Los pechitos o voladores pertenecen a la familia Gasteropelecidae de peces de río, incluido en el orden Characiformes. ​ Su nombre procede del griego: gaster (estómago) + pelekis (hacha). ​ Se encuentra en ríos y lagos de Panamá y en todos los países de América del Sur excepto en Chile.
