Black Caracara

Le Caracara noir (Daptrius ter) est une espèce de rapaces de la famille des falconidés. Description Cet oiseau mesure jusqu'à 47 cm. Les femelles pèsent entre 350 et 440 grammes.

The black caracara (Daptrius ater) is a bird of prey in the family Falconidae that is found in Amazonian and French Guianan lowlands, mainly occurring along rivers. It was formerly the only species placed in the genus Daptrius but based on genetic studies the genus now includes species that were formerly placed in the genera Milvago and Phalcoboenus. Since migration has not been observed, they are considered resident, or sedentary, remaining in the tropics year round.

El caracara negro,​ chupacacao negro o cacao negro (Daptrius ater) es una especie de ave falconiforme de la familia Falconidae endémica de América del Sur. Esta ave habita la mayor parte de la cuenca Amazónica. Su distribución comprende Colombia y Venezuela, y la región Amazónica al este de Ecuador y Perú, el norte de Bolivia, norte de Brasil y las Guayanas.
