Pileated Woodpecker

Le Grand Pic (Dryocopus pileatus syn. : Hylatomus pileatus) est une espèce d'oiseaux appartenant à la famille des Picidae présent en Amérique du Nord. Description Il mesure 40 à 49 cm de long et pèse de 250 à 350 g.

The pileated woodpecker ( PY-lee-ay-tid, PIL-ee-; Dryocopus pileatus) is a large, crow-sized woodpecker with a prominent red crest, white neck stripe, and a mostly black body. This woodpecker is native to North America, where it is the largest confirmed extant woodpecker species and the third-largest extant species of woodpecker in the world, after the great slaty woodpecker and the black woodpecker. It inhabits deciduous forests in eastern North America, the Great Lakes, the boreal forests of Canada, and parts of the Pacific Coast.

El picamaderos norteamericano o pito crestado (Dryocopus pileatus sin. : Hylatomus pileatus)​​ es una especie de ave piciforme de la familia Picidae nativa de América del Norte. Habita en los bosques caducifolios del este de Norteamérica, los Grandes Lagos, los bosques boreales de Canadá y partes de la costa del Pacífico.
