Johnny Darter

The johnny darter (Etheostoma nigrum) is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish, a darter from the subfamily Etheostomatinae, part of the family Percidae, which also contains the perches, ruffes and pikeperches. It is native to shallow waters throughout North America east of the Rocky Mountains. Etymology The johnny darter's Latin name comes from the Greek root words etheo, meaning to filter, stoma, meaning mouth, and nigrum, meaning black.

La rivière Sainte-Anne, Teyaiar (Rivière) - Variante traditionnelle en langue Wendat, aussi simplement appelé la Sainte-Anne, est un affluent de la rive nord du Saint-Laurent, dont l'embouchure se retrouve à Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade. Le bas de la rivière est bien connu pour sa pêche sur glace au poulamon atlantique qui se pratique habituellement de la fin décembre jusqu'à mars.
