Ocellated Frogfish

The ocellated frogfish (Fowlerichthys ocellatus) is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Antennariidae, the frogfishes. This fish is found in the Western Atlantic Ocean. Taxonomy The ocellated frogfish was first formally described as Lophius histrio ocellatus by the German naturalists Marcus Elieser Bloch and Johann Gottlob Theaenus Schneider with its type locality given as Havana.

Fowlerichthys ocellatus, comúnmente conocido como pez rana manchado, es un pez de la familia Antennariidae. Se encuentra en el océano Atlántico oeste, incluyendo la porción este del golfo de México, y el mar del Caribe, a profundidades de 150 metros. Su longitud es aproximadamente de 38 cm.
