Le Guigna (Leopardus guigna), également appelé Chat du Chili et Kodkod, est un félin du genre Leopardus. Plus petit félin d'Amérique, le Guigna se caractérise par sa petite tête aux oreilles rondes, sa queue courte et touffue et ses pieds larges. Son pelage gris fauve à brun tacheté de noir est proche de celui du Chat de Geoffroy.
The kodkod (Leopardus guigna), also called güiña, or Chilean cat, is the smallest felid species native to the Americas. It lives primarily in central and southern Chile, as well as marginally in adjoining areas of Argentina. Between 1996 and 2002, it was listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List as the total population was thought to be fewer than 10,000 mature individuals; it is threatened by persecution, habitat loss and prey base.
La huiña, güiña, gato de campo o gato colorado (Leopardus guigna) es un felino endémico de la región Pacífico del continente sudamericano. Vive principalmente en el centro y sur de Chile, así como en áreas adyacentes de Argentina. Nombre y etimología "Huiña" es una adaptación de la palabra mapuche wiña, que significa "cambio de morada".
