Small Whiteface

Leucorrhinia dubia, la Leucorrhine douteuse, est une espèce d'odonates du sous-ordre des anisoptères (ou libellules au sens strict) et qui fait partie de la famille des Libellulidae. Description Corps mature rouge et sombre, contrastant avec la face blanche. Les ailes postérieures portent des taches sombres à la base et les ptérostigmas sont rectangulaires et courts.

The white-faced darter or small whiteface (Leucorrhinia dubia) is a dragonfly belonging to the genus Leucorrhinia in the family Libellulidae, characterised by red and black markings and a distinctive white patch on the head. It is found in wetlands and peat bogs from northern Europe eastwards to Siberia, and the adults are active from around April till September, which is known as the "flight period". It breeds in acidic bodies of water, laying its eggs in clumps of sphagnum moss that provide a safe habitat for larval development.

El "darter" cara-blanca (Leucorrhinia dubia) es una pequeña libélula perteneciente al género Leucorrhinia de la familia Libellulidae. Su período de vuelo dura de mayo a agosto. Se encuentra en turberas desde el norte de Europa hacia el este hasta Siberia.
