Neoplecostomus paranensis

Les Neoplecostominae sont une sous-famille des poissons-chats (ordre Siluriformes) de la famille des Loricariidae. Elle vit essentiellement en haute montagne dans les rapides en Amérique du Sud. Taxonomie Neoplecostominae est le clade le plus basal des Loricariidae, à l'exception de Lithogeneinae.

Neoplecostomus paranensis is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the suckermouth armoured catfishes, and the subfamily Hypoptopomatinae, the cascudinhos. This catfish is endemic to Brazil. Taxonomy Neoplecostomus paranensis was first formally described in 1990 by the ichthyologist Francisco Langeani-Neto, with its type locality given as the Rio Cubatão, in the upper Paraná River system, Fazenda Santa Carlota, Cajuru in the Brazilian state of São Paulo.
