Harp Seal

Le phoque du Groenland (Pagophilus groenlandicus), ou phoque à selle est un mammifère carnivore, de la famille des phocidés. Systématique Pagophilus groenlandicus est la seule espèce du genre Pagophilus. Dans certaines classifications, le genre Pagophilus est absent, et l'espèce est alors nommée Phoca groenlandica Erxleben, 1777.

The harp seal (Pagophilus groenlandicus), also known as the saddleback seal or Greenland seal, is a species of earless seal, or true seal, native to the northernmost Atlantic Ocean and Arctic Ocean. Originally in the genus Phoca with a number of other species, it was reclassified into the monotypic genus Pagophilus in 1844. In Greek, its scientific name translates to "Greenlandic ice-lover", and its taxonomic synonym, Phoca groenlandica translates to "Greenlandic seal".

La foca pía, foca arpa o foca de Groenlandia (Pagophilus groenlandicus o Phoca groenlandica), es una especie de mamífero pinnípedo de la familia Phocidae, que habita en el Océano Atlántico Norte y el Océano Glacial Ártico. ​ En inglés se le llama harp seal (en español «foca arpa»). ​ Taxonomía La especie originalmente se ubicó dentro del género Phoca junto a otras especies, pero fue posteriormente reclasificada dentro del género Pagophilus, del cual es su único integrante.
