Pink Whipray

Himantura est un genre de raies des eaux côtières des océans Indien et Pacifique. Une des espèces, Himantura uarnak est également présente le long des côtes du Levant en Méditerranée orientale. Le nom de ce genre vient du grec iman, imantos, lanière, courroie et de oura, queue.

The pink whipray (Pateobatis fai) is a species of stingray in the family Dasyatidae, with a wide but ill-defined distribution in the tropical Indo-Pacific from southern Africa to Polynesia. It is a bottom dweller that generally inhabits shallow water under 70 m (230 ft) deep, in sandy areas associated with coral reefs. Individuals exhibit a high degree of fidelity to particular locations.

Pateobatis fai o también llamada raya látigo rosada es una especie de raya de la familia Dasyatidae, con una distribución amplia pero mal definida en el Indo-Pacífico tropical, desde el sur de África hasta Polinesia. Habita en aguas poco profundas, por debajo de los 70 m (230 pies) de profundidad, en zonas arenosas asociadas a arrecifes de coral. Los individuos muestran un alto grado de fidelidad a determinados lugares.
