Phoxinus bigerri

Classification

Phoxinus bigerri, the Adour minnow or Pyrenean minnow, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Leuciscidae, which includes the daces, minnows and related fishes. This fish is endemic to southwestern Europe. Taxonomy Phoxinus bigerri was first formally described in 2007 by the Swiss ichthyologist Maurice Kottelat, with its type locality given as the River Adour in Séméac, Tarbes, in the Hautes-Pyrénées départment of France at 43°13'39"N, 0°05'27"E.
