Baltic ringed seal

Corynosoma strumosum est une espèce de vers parasites de la famille des Polymorphidae (embranchement des acanthocéphales). Hôtes Corynosoma strumosum infecte notamment les phoques comme le Phoque annelé de la Baltique (Pusa hispida botnica) ou le Phoque commun (Phoca vitulina) et des mustélidés comme la Loutre d'Europe (Lutra lutra) ou le Vison d'Europe (Mustela lutreola). Cet acanthocéphale est présent dans des poissons comme Platichthys stellatus et Lepidopsetta bilineata.

The ringed seal (Pusa hispida) is a small earless seal species found in Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. Its common name is derived from a distinctive patterning of dark spots surrounded by light gray rings. The ringed seal is the most abundant and wide-ranging ice seal in the Northern Hemisphere; they can be found throughout the Arctic Ocean, into the Bering Sea and Okhotsk Sea as far south as the northern coast of Japan in the Pacific, and throughout the North Atlantic coasts of Greenland and Scandinavia as far south as Newfoundland.

La foca ocelada o foca anillada (Pusa hispida) es una especie de mamífero pinnípedo de la familia de los fócidos que habita en las costas del Ártico. Llamada también por los esquimales netsik o nattiq, la foca anillada mide entre 85 y 160 cm y pesa entre 40 y 90 kg al alcanzar la edad adulta. Son focas relativamente longevas, alcanzando los 35 años.
