White-throated Toucan (Cuvier's)

Toucan est le nom normalisé de certains oiseaux de la famille des Ramphastidés, dans l'ordre des Piciformes, qui, avec les araçaris et des toucanets, sont aussi appelés « toucans » dans le langage courant. Ce sont des oiseaux grimpeurs de taille moyenne, caractérisés par un bec surdimensionné et vivement coloré. Cet appendice à la fois long et haut, très léger et vascularisé, leur permet de réguler leur température.

The white-throated toucan (Ramphastos tucanus) is a near-passerine bird in the family Ramphastidae found in South America throughout the Amazon Basin including the adjacent Tocantins and Araguaia River drainage. El tucán de Cuvier (Ramphastos cuvieri) es una especie de ave del género Ramphastos. Este tucán habita en zonas selváticas del noroeste de Sudamérica. Nidifica en huecos en troncos o ramas de árboles.
